Asset-based thinking

Most of us are gifted with a pair of eyes, a pair of ears, mouth, nose and ability to feel. We only need this physical feature to sense what's outside. But as we grow older, we begin to think and judge. We create thoughts and make judgments on whatever we see, feel, hear, smell and taste. All these thoughts and judgments seems to be inside of us and not outside. But really, they are just a mirror for each other; and this is one aspect of the Law of Reflection. When we're happy, everything seems to be going on smoothly; and why we're down with our mood, it seems like we'd reached hell early.

So common sense tells us that our reality varies with our thinking, and we can enhance our lives just by thinking 'correctly'. Ladies and gentlemen, humanity seems to have two types of thinkers- Asset-based thinkers and Deficit-based thinkers; one who sees a glass half-filled and the latter sees it as half-empty.

Here's a website that's worth visiting - http://www.assetbasedthinking.com/ Basically its a book called- 'Change the way you see everything'. Borrow it from the library if you want to see the world with an ideal vision.

The good news is, as the book says it, our thinking is a matter of choice, it is not our personality trait. That means we can choose to switch camp at anytime. But the bad news is, life isn't easy at all (oops! this's deficit-based thinking!) See what I mean? It's very easy to go back to DBT, so it takes alot of effort to be an ABT-er. Find out more from the book. ;p "When you change the way you see things, the things you see change." - Anonymous
