Reflections on Toltec Wisdom I

"Who says society has justice? True justice is only paying once for each mistake. True injustice is paying more than once for each mistake." - Don Miguel Ruiz, The Four Agreements

How many times must we pay for our mistakes until we say 'Enough!' Just how many times more until we realise that we don't want to suffer anymore!

Humans are the only living thing on Earth who likes to punish themselves over and over again for the same mistake. Other animals don't. Now, that is one shortcomings of intelligence.

We have a powerful memory. We make a mistake, we judge ourselves, we plead guilty, and we punish ourselves, and we remember the whole process from the top so that we can repeat it. What's more, friends and family will remind you of the same mistake and the entire suffering goes on.
